Bearing Fruit: Food For Thought – Day 7

The Lord inspired me today to speak about growing and bearing His fruit! This is a very powerful passage because he lets us know a few important things. In John 15:1-8 God tells us that He is the true vine and that if we bear fruit, we will continue to bear MORE fruit and be even MORE fruitful!

Also God tells us in verse 4 that if we remain in Him, He will remain in us, and that alone is just so powerful and reassuring! It really leaves me in awe that Christ tells us basically “if you follow me and continue to pursue me and live like me, I will be with you wherever you are”. Honestly just having that reassurance is enough to keep me with Christ.

Another thing in verse 4 is how Christ tells us that we cannot do it by ourselves. We cannot do be fruitful and bear fruit alone through our own actions, deeds, thoughts, words, etc., unless we are in Christ!

In verse 5 Christ clarifies that his is our vine and we are the branches that feed off of him! Through Him, He’s letting us know that we can be rich fruits, however apart from him he tells us we can do nothing!

Let’s pray that Christ can really help us to bear His fruit and be humble, yet still seeking more of Him. Also let’s pray that God can truly help us see that we cannot do anything without him!

What To Set Our Eyes On: Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 5

I was inspired today to talk about what we as Christians need to focus on. Many times we find ourselves giving too much time and attention to earthly things, not necessarily bad things, just things that take our goal off the main focus in our lives. We need to do as Paul told us in the book of Colossians 3:2, and really focus on things above, and not earthly things! Many times we forget that certain “good” things we do, can actually become routine and aren’t done for the Lord anymore, but done simply out of routine. Let us focus on Gods Kingdom! Matthew 6:33 tells us to “seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.” This will not only help us be more optimistic, but will also provide us with hope and sureness that God will come through for us in whatever we may face ahead, good or bad, and any necessity we have, He will provide for it! See Matthew 6:33 & Colossians 3:1-4

When Christ is Faithful & Loving: Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 4

It’s hard to believe that a God whom we can be so rude, impatient, unkind, and even unfaithful to can always be loving and faithful! in 2 Timothy 2:13 the Bible tells us that even if WE are faithless, the Lord will remain faithful! Too many times we commit sin and think “oh I’ll wait to repent because God probably doesn’t love me now…”. Well fortunately we have an amazing Lord and savior who died for our sins, so to think that waiting to repent is a good idea, is foolishness from the evil one! Drop to your knees and be a faithful servant to Christ, tell Him your wrong (even though he knows it). Be sincere and repent because God loves us and is faithful unconditionally!
