Today I read from the book of 1 Thessalonians and all of it really spoke to me, but chapter 4 verses 7-8 really were put on my heart to share. They say:
“God has called us to be holy, not to live impure lives. Anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human rules but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.”
These two verses are so important to us as Christians. They tell us what we’ve been called to and what we are doing when we don’t obey. We are called to live purely and holy and when we don’t, we are disobeying God. We as followers of Christ really need to spend time thinking and analyzing each aspect of our lives. We need to be asking ourselves “How can I be a more holy person at school, work, church, community, family, etc?”, “How can I fulfill my calling and the life that God wants me to live?” Let’s stop thinking that when we don’t do something God asks of us it isn’t bad because we aren’t breaking any written legal law. We are actually breaking something much greater than that, God’s law.
Let’s be conscious of our lives. Let’s be conscious of the way we come across to others. Let’s really strive to be more holy and pure as God is calling us to be. Let’s not reject God by disobeying Him. Amen!
Thank you for taking some time out of your day to read this post! God bless you abundantly and may you reflect His kingdom.
