Are We Double-Minded?

Today I was reading from the book of James once again, and verses 5-8 stuck out to me.

“5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.”

How many times a day do we find ourselves asking God for something and then find ourselves doubting. “Maybe He doesn’t want to bless me.” “Maybe I’m not good enough.” “Maybe God won’t here me.” Well we aren’t good enough because only He is good. Secondly, how can we even doubt a God that has already done so much in each of our lives? How can we possibly question His love and perfect intentions? We need to get our minds straight. We need to be right minded and not “double-minded” as some translations say in verse 8.

Let’s get our faith in check and pray that God may work in our faith and grow it and continue to make it flourish! God  Bless you all and thank you for taking some time out of your day to read my post(s). 🙂
