Are We New?: Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 22

Today God put on my heart 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” This verse is very convicting to me because it really gets me thinking, “Am I really different?” and “What has even changed in/about me?”

Let’s pray for God to continue changing us, but praying that we may be accepting to that change whatever it may be because we are His creations, not the other way around! He does what He pleases with us! Let’s be tools in His shed, use for bringing Him glory and honor! Be blessed! Amen!!

More Jesus: Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 21

Today God inspired me from the book of John. In John 3:30, the Word of the Lord tells us “He must increase, but I must decrease.” I don’t know how this verse makes you feel, but right away I feel convicted. I knew as soon as I read this that I needed to share this with all my brothers and sisters in Christ! Again another wonderful reminder of what needs to happen in our lives as Christians and as followers of the truth!

Last night at the youth group over here in Macomb, Illinois, called Fuel, the campus pastor A.J. had such a beautiful illustration. He used his children’s paintings. One was all mixed up with all sorts of colors and shapes and EVERYTHING just everywhere. It was pretty much one drawing. The other was with a few colors, but they didn’t cross over or mix. You see sometimes our lives are like the second one. We always have sections in our lives, whether school, work, church, choir, who knows. The sad part, is that in the second one, Christ also has his own section, but not quite all of it. However we need to be like the first drawing allow Christ to be in every aspect of our lives. Let our life be a mix of all the colors in the world, as long as Jesus is involved and we give Him our lives, He will increase and truly be a part of our lives just like the first painting.

Let’s just take a step back and analyze our lives. How much of our lives right now is actually run by Christ? Let’s try to live our lives like the first painting, where in all of it, Christ is a part of everything so it pretty much looks like Christ! We can do this by increasing our Bible intake, spending more time on our knees and in prayer, helping others, but the best way, the best possible way for Christ to reign in our lives is to TRULY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY SURRENDER! Aren’t our lives supposed to mirror Christ’s? Let’s pray for Christ to increase in every aspect of our lives!

Denying The Worldly: Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 20

In Titus 2:11-12 Paul tells us Jesus’ grace and salvation that we need to constantly deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age. Verse 12 is a crucial verse to present day (2013) Christians. We need to really strive to walk in the opposite direction from things of this world that wants us to have liquor and alcohol, drugs (marijuana included), cigarettes (and all forms of  tobacco), pornography, hate towards others, idols (all of the above, friendships, and relationships, electronics, even work and school), and SOOO many other things! We need to be strong and be different, be holy! Please guys let’s not allow the evil one deceive us and trick us into trading something that’s worth everything for nothing, our salvation and Christ’s love for us! We need to be denying the worlds lusts everyday, let’s not allow temptation to run our lives, but let’s rule over it. Let’s be sober minded, righteous, and godly in this age, because we all know what a messed up society we live in, a society that constantly goes against our Lord and Savior, a society that is constantly conforming and “accepting”. Please let’s pray that we may do what verse 12 tells us to! God Bless you ALL!! Amen

The Word and Works: Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 19

Today the Lord inspired me to talk about Titus 1:9,16. These two passages cover things that we as Christians have always heard! For one, read your Bible and stay close to it. The other, that we should do works, not to earn our salvation, but to be able to truly profess the Lord through not only our words but actions as well! I really want us and God especially wants us to do these two things, not because we have to and are commanded, but do them because we love God, love His will, LOVE in general! Please, let’s not allow the evil one to rob us of our true potential happiness and joy!

Let’s really analyze our intake of scripture and also our deeds and our actions! Let’s pray that God may move every day through us and use us in AMAZING ways so we can really be in accord with his will for us! God Bless YOU ALL!!! Amen!

Qualities For Leaders (ALL CHRISTIANS): Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 18

Christ really inspired me today from the entire book of Titus. In this book  He revealed to me to share that we as Christians, as leaders of the world for Christ, have to posses certain qualities, that reflect Him, that truly show others that we are founded in Christ. This book is SO CRUCIAL to our walk with Christ! We see in Titus how apostle Paul addresses Titus, a young pastor, how to appoint leaders who posses quality spiritual characters. This book basically teaches us that the elders of the church aren’t the only ones who NEED to excel spiritually, but that men, women, young men, and young women need to as well! Many will argue that this book is only for church leaders, well that isn’t true, because we all have to apply the scriptures to our lives as much as possible. We as Christians are being called to be leaders and lights, so as long as that is true, we will apply the teachings of the book of Titus! This book truly teaches us so many things that I will be addressing throughout the next few days! For now read the entire book of Titus and be prepared for amazingness! God BLESS!

Trusting In the Lord: Food For Thought – Daily Devotional Day 17

Today I read from Proverbs 3:5-6. Recently I’ve been struggling with containing my emotions and feelings about certain things and people. I really have been puzzled and stuck as to what to do and I came across this. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” This really hit the spot for me and showed me once again to focus my eyes upon the Lord again and to realize that he will take care of me and my paths will be made straight!

Let’s remember to keep our eyes on Jesus and if we are going through emotions with a guys (for girls) or with a girl (for us guys), or if we are worrying about a job position, or family problems, or anything else, lets not worry about that because the Lord will straighten our path…and I don’t want to hear “its not that simple” because it is…I am doing it, I am trusting in the Lord to take care of my situationS!! (capitol s because there are multiple)
